WE and North West Boroughs Healthcare Shortlisted for the 2019 HSJ Awards

Wellbeing Enterprises CIC (WE) and North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NWBH) are delighted to announce that their St Helens Community Wellbeing Service has been shortlisted for a Health Service Journal (HSJ) Award in the Community or Primary Care Service Redesign category.

Working in partnership, WE and NWBH have integrated non-medical wellbeing approaches into clinical pathways across the Trust to improve outcomes for patients. Acting as a form of early intervention, the service supports community nursing and mental health teams by undertaking an assessment of wider social needs and connecting patients to community-led support to increase their wellbeing and reduce the need for medical intervention.

Chief Executive Officer at WE, Mark Swift, said: “We’re thrilled to be shortlisted for a HSJ Award and to see the fantastic partnership between WE and NWBH being recognised for the positive impact it’s making to people’s lives in St Helens. The hard work and dedication of staff has made this service the success it is and I’m incredibly proud to celebrate this wonderful achievement together.”

John Heritage, Chief Operating Officer at NWBH, continued:“It’s great to be working in partnership with Wellbeing Enterprises and we’re delighted that the service has been shortlisted for the HSJ awards – it’s fantastic recognition of the teams efforts and valuable contribution. Working with a partner like Wellbeing Enterprises enables us to increase the range of support we can our offer to people in our local communities.”

HSJ editor Alistair Mclellan, comments: “We would like to congratulate WE and NWBH on being nominated in the category of Community or Primary Care Service Redesign ahead of this year’s 2019 HSJ awards. We are looking forward to welcoming them to the ceremony in November, to join us in recognising the very best achievements and innovations in the healthcare sector.
