Stress Awareness Month: Taking Small Steps Toward Feeling Better
April is Stress Awareness Month - a time to shine a light on the impact of stress and explore simple, meaningful ways to look after our mental and emotional wellbeing.
Stress is something we all experience. Whether it’s caused by health, finances, caring responsibilities or just the pace of everyday life, it can build up over time and take a real toll on our wellbeing. You might feel anxious, overwhelmed, tired or irritable - and you’re not alone.
The good news? There are small steps we can all take to manage stress and feel more in control.
Here are a few ways to get started:
- Talk to someone you trust – Sharing what’s on your mind can ease the pressure.
- Move your body – Even a short walk can help clear your head and lift your mood.
- Take notice – Try pausing to notice your surroundings, your breath, or something you’re grateful for.
- Learn something new – Building a new skill or hobby can boost your confidence and create positive distraction.
- Connect with others – Being part of a group or community can remind us we’re not alone.
At Wellbeing Enterprises, we’re here to support you on your journey to better wellbeing. This month we’re running a range of free wellbeing activities - from creative workshops to walking groups and friendly support sessions - to help you manage stress and feel better.
No matter what your going through our Wellbeing Link Workers are here to help you find solutions to practical, social and/or emotional challenges. We'll listen to what’s going on for you, make a plan together to get you on the right track, and take action to connect you to the right support.
