Patient Participant Groups to Launch Wellbeing Initiatives
In July, Wellbeing Enterprises CIC (WE) launched the Be the
Change initiative in Halton. Be the Change gave Patient Participant Group’s
(PPG) linked to GP Practices the opportunity to apply for funding to launch
projects to help improve the wellbeing of patients and/or staff.
PPG members applied for up to £500 to get their idea up and
running and WE were overwhelmed with fun and creative applications. Ideas were
varied and ranged from creating ‘Feelgood Gardens’ to hosting wellbeing events
for patients and providing paediatric first aid training for new parents and
grandparents.
Carolyn Taylor, Services Manager at WE, said: “After seeing
the exciting ideas that were submitted, I can’t wait to see them launch in
Hough Green Health Park, Appleton Village Surgery, Brookvale, Weaver Vale and
Tower House GP Practices!”
Mark Swift, WE’s Chief Executive Officer, continued: “It’s
wonderful to see so many PPG members participating in Be the Change and put the
wellbeing of their community at the heart of their practice. I’ve been blown
away by the quality of the entries and cannot wait to see the positive impact
the projects have on the wellbeing of the people and communities of Halton.”
