Meet the team: Lyndsay, our Community Wellbeing Officer
Lyndsay is part of the team who provides personal wellbeing support to patients and the public who have practical, social and emotional needs.
To find out more about Lyndsay, her job role and her top tips for wellbeing we asked her a few questions.
What is a typical day in your role like?
A typical day in my role is, phoning patients and gathering information so that together we can put a plan in place to assist the patient with improving their overall wellbeing. This could be done through signposting, helping them to access support groups or referring them onto other agencies who are specifically tailored to their individual needs. Sometimes they just need to have a chat as they may be lonely and/or socially isolated.
What do you like best about your role at Wellbeing Enterprises?
What I enjoy most about my job is knowing that I have helped to make someone's day seem that little bit better and them knowing that I am always here if they need to talk. Knowing I have made a difference to someone's life, no matter how small, gives me great job satisfaction.
How do you look after your own wellbeing?
I get up extra early each day so I can sit and have a cup of tea in peace and listen to the silence of the house before the day starts and the rest of the household wakes up.
What are your top tips for wellbeing?
My top tips for wellbeing are to make sure each week you make time for yourself and never feel guilty for doing so. Have a cup of tea in peace. Go for a walk alone and listen to the birds tweeting or have an undisturbed soak in the bath with some nice bubble bath and light some candles.
What are your hobbies?
My hobbies are gardening, I am more than happy to spend a full day pottering around the garden. I also enjoy spending time with my family and travelling to new places.
