Halton Travel Well supports more than 1,000 residents to embrace active travel
More than 1,000 Halton residents have been supported to walk, wheel and cycle more, according to the latest Halton Travel Well Annual Report.
During 2025, the service supported 1,093 people to become more active and build their confidence in travelling around their local communities. By making active travel practical, personal and accessible, Halton Travel Well helps people find options that reflect their individual circumstances, abilities and goals.
The report highlights the positive difference this support is making:
- 74% of participants reported improved wellbeing
- 55% reported reduced anxiety
Behind these figures are people feeling more confident, connected and independent in their everyday lives. Whether someone is walking more regularly, returning to cycling or finding an accessible way to travel locally, every journey represents meaningful progress.
The results demonstrate that active travel is about much more than getting from one place to another. With the right encouragement and practical support, it can improve wellbeing, reduce anxiety, strengthen social connections and help people feel more confident in their communities.
We are proud of what Halton residents have achieved and grateful to everyone who has helped make the service a success.
