Castlefields Community Health and Wellbeing Consultation

A new community report shaped by the voices of Castlefields residents.

Wellbeing Enterprises CIC worked in partnership with Plus Dane Housing to carry out a community health and wellbeing consultation across Castlefields, engaging with more than 190 residents to understand what matters most to local people and what would help the community thrive.

The report highlights the many strengths of Castlefields, including a strong sense of community, pride in the area, and the support that neighbours provide to one another. Residents spoke positively about the people, places, and relationships that make Castlefields a unique and valued community.

Alongside these strengths, residents identified opportunities to improve health and wellbeing locally. Key themes included the importance of safer streets, cleaner and more welcoming public spaces, greater opportunities for social connection, and ensuring that local people have a meaningful voice in decisions that affect their community.

What comes through strongly is that residents care deeply about Castlefields and want to play an active role in shaping its future. The findings provide a valuable foundation for future community-led action and have helped inform the launch of the SPARK Fund, which will support resident-led ideas and projects that strengthen community wellbeing.

The report offers an important insight into the experiences, aspirations, and priorities of local people, helping to ensure that future investment and action are shaped by the voices of the community itself.
